Research carried teenagers who are still attending college in Stockton, California, provides an important warning for people with defribrillator implant (a small battery electrical impulse generator which is implanted in heart patients), in order not to put the iPad 2 at the top of his chest. Therefore, there are magnets on the iPad can be deadly defibrillator to the heart.
Chien explained, iPad 2 cover casing contains 30 magnets that can pose a dangerous risk to the user's body. While, if the iPad 2 right directly above the chest for a long time, it is dangerous. Chien research assisted by his father, Walter Chien is also a electrophyisiologist heart.
In his research, Walter Chien involved 26 volunteers who use defibrillators to put the iPad 2 at the top of their chest, and then discovered that the disorder is triggered on the tool that is embedded in the heart by 30 percent. While, four pacemakers or loop-recorder which also tested not trigger damage to his defibrillator.
Chien did not realize this discovery contributed greatly to the science of medicine. He also said wanted to help raise awareness about the dangers of magnets in patients on the iPad, especially for those who put defibrillators in heart.
"Patients defibrillator can still buy an Apple product, it's just not to put them right on top of the chest," said the 14-year-old teenager.
Chien was first presented his findings at a school event in San Joaquin County Science Fair in March. Then the invention of the electromagnetic topped, so he ventured to follow the event even larger science in order to explain these findings. (Amr)
